I know what it feels like to have important life goals that keep getting put off and how not making those goals a priority can have an incredibly negative impact on our life. As a certified life coach, I have people reach out to me often from all over the world who are SO close to taking a leap of faith & believing in themselves, and often just before taking that leap of faith, self-doubt takes over. I hear things like (I’m going to wait a few weeks so I’m more rested) (I’m going to wait until life settles down) (I don’t want to spend money if it doesn’t work) (I don’t have time to focus on myself right now) (I have a sick loved one who needs me) The list of reasons goes on and I get it because I have felt the same way myself. In saying this, I always feel such sadness in the pit of my stomach for people who don’t take the leap because I know things will rarely feel all lined up. My most successful clients have come to coaching in the absolute thick of it and together as a team, we approach making changes and setting goals at their pace, completely where they are. You may have yourself convinced that things can’t get better, that you’re not capable of putting in the work, but that’s simply not true. Past attempts are just that, in the past, and have no place in the here and now. What makes me most sad is that time and time again, I have witnessed people with heavy hearts start coaching who felt completely defeated and who begin to feel better about themselves within days. Please understand, I’m not saying people feel like everything has been solved, coaching isn’t some type of magic solution but they feel better. Slowly as the weight of the world comes off their shoulders & they practice daily self-love, they grow more confident in their abilities because of feeling better emotionally.
Of course, not all people will experience the same results from coaching as the example below. What I want you to take away most from this is how change can happen and unfold in a way you never actually believed it could, and that this can only happen if you’re willing to take a leap of faith. Yes, this Q & A is with my client, but I’m sharing this to say, it doesn’t matter where you get the help as long as you seek it, if you feel you need it. You’ll never regret investing in yourself.
Q & A
with Natalie Beauchamp
Me) When you decided to join coaching a few months ago, how were you feeling?
Natalie) Before I started coaching with Sara I thought that I was doing well and living life as expected and yet something drew me to Sara’s Coaching posts over and over. This started me thinking about how I was really feeling which was tough. I realized I was angry (simmering under the surface angry), frustrated at not being seen for who I was, not giving myself enough credit for me and generally feeling a lot of underlying stress.
Me) How long into making a decision to change your life did you actually start to feel better, maybe not great but better?
Natalie) After the first session with Sara I felt like I could turn myself around, knowing it would take time, it could be done. By the end of the second session I was asking myself why I took so long to make the decision to work with Sara because changes were certainly taking place.
Me) After starting to feel a little better, how did that help you with your days?
Natalie) Honestly the main thing that changed for me was my stress/sneak eating, not feeling the need to do this. Also actually feeling happy, not just “believing” that I was happy.
Me) Knowing what you know now and how you felt when you decided to join coaching, could you have imagined at that time how you would be feeling now?
Natalie) Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could “drop” all the baggage I had and feel as happy, content and in control of my life as I do now. Sara has a way of making me look at myself, think through what is being asked of me and coming out on the other side so much better. My life today is so different from when I started early in 2021. Days are full of love, adventure, harmony, less stress and lots and lots of gratitude. These are the things that work for me.
Me) What surprises you most about the changes you’ve been able to make and stick to ?
Natalie) How wonderful my life is, how beautiful the world is and how difficult and easy it was to get to this point. Life throws us lots and lots of curve balls and having the tools and the mindset to handle, move through and move beyond these obstacles is just wonderful.
Me) What would you tell someone who feels like they want to start but feel scared or like it’s too late or no point ?
Natalie) Don’t give up on yourself. Young, old (I believe that old is a mindset), in between, single, in a relationship, no matter what you deserve your beautiful life. It is scary to put yourself out there to someone else. What I can tell you about Sara is that there is no judgement, no disdain, nothing but love and caring for your wellbeing. What I am saying is true. Sara is the most wonderful person to talk to, an amazing coach and someone that I should have jumped at the chance to talk with a long time ago. Give her a chance, you won’t be sorry.
