One small step at a time….. a few little words that hold so much truth and power ! My wonderful grandmother Dorothy passed away Sep 2012, when I was a little girl, I spent a lot of time with her, we would go on long walks because she didn’t own a vehicle and often I would look up at her and say I can’t walk anymore. She would always say ” just put one foot in front of the other – take one small step at a time and we’ll get there ” We always did of course and this has always stayed with me my entire life because it can apply to anything and everything in our life.
So often we don’t get started on life goals because they seem SO big and we have such low self belief in ourselves, it’s the story we’ve been telling ourselves for years that says ” I can’t ” !! Today I want to challenge your thinking to focus on (( what if I can )) Just think about this, absorb this… what if you CAN be healthier, what if you can learn a second language, what if you can reach out to that friend you miss so much, what if you can get that promotion, what if you can say sorry, what if you can say I’m hurt ……. what if you CAN live your BEST most BLESSED life and more importantly why can’t you ?? Life often provides some ” interesting ” hurdles and roadblocks, however, at the end of the day, 99.9% of the things we don’t reach is because WE didn’t go for it, we didn’t take the time to work on our inside emotions and believe in the amazing person God created us to be.
You may not be able to run a 5K today but you can start slowly with training. You may not be able to learn french in one day but you can look up a few words a day. You may not be able to go for that promotion today but you can start the ball rolling in the right direction. You may not be able to look in the mirror today and say ( I love you ) but you can start the process ! The truth is, baby steps lead to HUGE accomplishments that bridge the gap between wishing and taking the needed actions to make our goals and dreams a reality !
Little by little, step by step, if you keep going, you’ll get there ! ~ Sara
